Linking spare parts to an asset in LLumin CMMs+ ensures that required parts appear automatically in work orders tied to that asset. This improves consistency and helps maintenance teams plan ahead with the correct materials.
Instructions
To link spare parts to an asset, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Assets tab in the menu bar.
Select View Assets.
- In the Asset Finder, search for the asset you want to link parts to.
- Select the asset and click View to open the Asset Master.
- Click the Maintenance tab.
- Select the Linked Parts tab.
- In the Linked Parts tab, you can search for parts already in the system or create a new part.
To search for an existing part:
- Type its ID in the search bar, OR
- Click the magnifying glass icon to open the Item Finder.
- Find and select the part, then click Select.
- The part will now appear in the linked parts section.
To create a new part:
- Click Create New.
- In the Create New Item screen, compete the required fields. Enter the required quantity and any relevant usage notes.
- Click Create to create the item.
- After adding the spare parts, click Save at the bottom of the screen to confirm the changes.
After the part is linked, it will appear automatically in future work orders associated with that asset.
