How to Use the Asset Finder

The Asset Finder in LLumin CMMS+ is a powerful tool for managing and navigating assets with ease. This article will walk you through its features and functionalities, enabling you to filter, view, and manage assets efficiently.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Assets drop-down menu on the menu bar.

  2. Select View Assets.

NOTE: The Asset Finder screen will open by default in Grid View, displaying a list of assets. You can also switch to Organizational View to see a visual hierarchy of your assets.

 

Navigating the Asset Finder

When you open the Asset Finder, you'll see a spreadsheet-style view that organizes assets into columns of key information. The Finder provides tools for filtering results and buttons for managing and performing actions on assets.

Quick Search

  1. Enter a value, such as Asset ID or Asset Description, in the search bar at the top left.
  2. Press Enter or click the magnifying glass icon.

NOTE: The number displayed next to the Asset Finder title indicates the total number of records in the current view.

 

Columns in the Finder

The columns help organize and surface key details for each asset. Common columns include:

  • Asset ID
  • Asset Description
  • Site or Facility
  • Department
  • Asset Type
  • Current Status

Sorting & Rearranging Columns

To sort columns:

  1. Click the column header to sort ascending.
  2. Click again to sort descending.
  3. Click a third time to remove the sort.

To apply multiple levels of sorting, click additional column headers. Sorting will follow the order selected.

To rearrange columns:

  1. Click and drag the column header to a new location.

  2. Drop it where you see arrows indicating placement.

To customize via the Column Settings menu:

  1. Click the dropdown next to Grid Layout and select Columns.

  2. Use the Column Settings pop-up to show/hide columns and rearrange them via drag-and-drop.

  3. Click Done to apply changes.

Filtering the Asset Finder

  1. Click the green Filter button.

  2. Choose a field such as Status, Asset Type, or Site.

  3. Select the criteria and click Apply.

  4. (Optional) Click the arrow next to Filters > Create New.

  5. Give it a name and click Save.

  6. To set a filter as default, use Filters > Set as Default.

Grouping Assets

  1. Click the three dots on a column header and choose Group.

  2. (Optional) Drag more columns into the grouping area for additional groupings.

  3. Each group header displays the group name and number of records.

  4. Click the arrow beside a group to expand/collapse it.
  5. To remove a group, click the X next to the group header.

Managing Assets via the Finder

You can take direct action from the Asset Finder based on your user permissions. Common actions include:

Deletes selected asset(s) with confirmation popup.
Exports the list of assets in XLS format.

 

NOTE: Available button options depend on the user's security permissions.

 

The Legend displays color-coded indicators for your assets. Refer to the in-app legend for details.

 

Customizing the Grid Layout

Additional Features

  • Reload Button: Refreshes the Asset Finder page to reflect any changes.
