Overview
Field Configuration for a Work Order Type controls field captions, visibility, and whether fields are required. These settings apply to Work Orders created with that Type.
Configure field settings
Select the Gear icon in the top navigation bar, and then select Admin Mode.
Select Asset & Work Management > Work Order Types.
In the Work Order Type Finder, select the Work Order Type you want to configure, and then select View.
Select the Field Configuration card.
Locate the field you want to change, and then select the Edit icon for that field.
NOTE: Some system fields cannot be recaptioned or modified.- To change the field name, update the value in the Caption box.
For example, change Equipment to Tool.
If the field has a Visible/Hidden toggle, use the toggle to show or hide the field.
- If the field has a Security Level list, select one of the following:
- Editable: The field is visible and can be updated.
- Hidden: The field does not appear on the Work Order.
Required: The field must contain a value.
- Select Save to apply the changes to that field.
- Repeat the steps for each additional field that you want to update.
